Get Your Confidence Back For Good!

Confidence is one of those things that we can all feel as though we don’t have enough of. And what’s more, we can often feel super alone with these thoughts because people don’t tend to want to talk about how they aren’t feeling confident!

Nobody likes to admit that they simply don’t have the confidence to do something, and that can make it seem as though everyone else has loads of it when you feel like yours is dwindling.

It is important to be aware of the fact that even the most self-assured people will have struggled with their confidence at some point – perhaps they still are and are just great at hiding it!

Today I want to talk about some amazingly simple but effective ways that you can begin to get your confidence back – and keep it for good!

The ways in which we are able to build ourselves up and encourage our inner lights to shine will be different for each of us. Once you become aware of what works for you then it is totally within your power to continue embracing these things regularly and giving more of your time and energy to doing so.

Overcoming Fear

Fear can be such a debilitating thing. It can keep us from moving forwards in life and from taking the big risks that we would love to explore. Fear can also impact our lives in much smaller ways, such as preventing us from saying hello to the stranger that you want to talk to, or from joining the gym that you want to get fit at!

It’s so easy to go straight to the worst case scenario when you are trying something new. You might be certain that the stranger that you want to talk to is going to be dismissive or rude to you, or that you will feel intimated and out of place at the gym. But how often does the worst case scenario actually happen? The chances are in your favour that the stranger will welcome your friendly hello, and that the gym will be the first fantastic step to improving your health and fitness!

A mind that is lacking in confidence is the perfect environment for fear to thrive, and thrive it will if you do not take positive steps to keep it at bay. Once you’ve broken through the wall of fear for the very first time, then you will be much better mentally equipped to keep doing it and to become the fearless version of yourself that you deserve to be!

Boost Your Self-Esteem

When you are working to get your confidence back then it can be incredibly helpful to assess why your confidence has reached the point that it is currently at. Has somebody encouraged this negative mindset? Or do you feel as though these thoughts have come entirely from your own mind? Have you struggled with failure before and found it difficult to get back on track to a positive place?

Regardless of how low your confidence and self-esteem currently is, there will undoubtedly be at least one thing that you enjoy doing that you are good at!

Take a piece of paper and create a list of these thing so that you can get a firm idea of exactly what they are. Keep this list to hand and update it whenever you feel like you have something to add. You can also read through the list each day to remind yourself of the things that make you feel valuable.

Regain Control

Although it can be helpful to take validation from other people in order to boost your confidence, it is by no means necessary, and you can regain this control all by yourself!

Take Control Confidence Whole Self

Making positive choices and turning these choices into actions is a fantastic way to take control and encourage your confidence. Positive thoughts and behaviour are essential to building confidence, but without actions then you are not going to reach the full potential of this positivity. Embracing one action at a time is the most sustainable way to move forwards without overwhelming yourself.

Outside and Inside

Taking care of yourself inside and out can be the key to boosting your confidence and enhancing your feelings of self-worth. By this I mean, giving time to your mental health, your physical health, and also your physical appearance.

If you aren’t feeling great about yourself, then small acts such as taking a shower, doing something different with your hair, or putting your favourite outfit on, can actually help to lift your mood. The clothes that you wear can really go a long way to helping with your confidence, and you might even take a fresh dose of confidence by shopping for some new clothes that do wonders for your self-image.

The concept of confidence on the whole is about much more than these small actions, but in a moment of negativity or self-doubt, the small things can make all the difference.

Conquer Your Thoughts

One of the most basic things to remember is that you absolutely have the power conquer your thoughts! Whenever you begin to question your worth, struggle with your confidence, or have any other kind of negative thought, then consciously strive to replace this thought with something more positive and kind.

Your brain can only focus on one thing at a time, and if you are filling your mind with positive thoughts and feelings then you will naturally drown out the negative voices. The more you practice this concept, the more you will become aware of your own negative self-talk, and can then be better prepared to protect yourself against it!

Own Your Experience

You are the only person who has lived your unique experience, and it’s not up to anyone else to tell you how you should feel about yourself or the world around you. When you embrace your whole self, and understand that all of your past experiences have made you who you are in this moment, then you can truly process any of the negativity that you are carrying around. Without the weight of this negativity on your shoulders, your confidence can burst through and continue to shine.

Extend Kindness

Extending kindness to those around you will inevitably lead to kindness coming back to you. This can be amazing for your confidence and sense of self-worth, as being treated in a positive way by others can quickly lead to you feeling great about yourself.
