Being able to find moments of true peace within the often busy and stressful lives that many of us lead is so important for our well-being.
This peace can help to maintain a positive mindset and nurture our happiness. It can help to combat any negativity that we are dealing with, and it can enable us to hit the refresh button on each and every day.
Often the balance between getting everything done and having some time to ourselves is difficult to get right. But without this balance it can be easy to lose sight of our goals and to struggle with staying on top of our responsibilities and schedules.
Today I want to share my advice on the best ways to consciously invite peace into your life to find this balance, and how to do so in seemingly small but consistent ways!
An alarming number of people experience physical symptoms due to their stress levels. This can become a serious problem over time as chronic stress persists. However, we can work to get on top of this issue and create a calmer, more peaceful life.
Identifying your biggest sources of stress is the first move here. You need to know what it is that you often feel the need to take a break from, and assess just how much of a drain these things are on your emotional energy.
Make a physical list of what your sources of stress are and then try to write down some solutions to each item on your list. These solutions may manifest as resolving each issue, or distancing yourself from a situation entirely.
On a separate list, I would like you to write about all of the things that bring you joy. This list can include absolutely anything — people, places, activities, or anything else that makes you feel good. Keep this list close to you and add to it whenever something new pops into your head or you discover a new joy.

I want you to take this list out of your pocket and read through it at least once a day. Especially try to remember to call upon it in moments where you are stressed out!
Time & Energy
You may often feel as though the demands for your time and attention are endless. You have a job to do well, a family to care for, and other commitments. This can make the journey towards finding true peace seem like an impossible one to begin.
A lot of the pressure that we feel during the day actually comes from within us! We set high and unrealistic expectations for ourselves that we can then obviously find it hard to live up to.
For some of us, we can be our own worse critic and judge — finding fault in our own decisions and actions, even when there's no reason to assign this blame.
When you are constantly trying to meet these unrealistic standards, then you are also continuously fuelling your inner critic to voice harsh criticisms of your efforts.
Of course, not all of the pressure you feel will come from yourself, and this will also originate from other places, such as your job and your relationships. A certain amount of this pressure is natural and can actually help to push us forwards to succeed, but too much can cause us to live in a state of high stress and seriously harm our self-esteem.
Being able to let go of these pressures and accept yourself for who and what you are, is such an important step in creating peace for yourself. Additionally, knowing what it is that you want from life can truly help you to drown out the noise and the chaos, and allow you to focus on the important things.
Break Away From Expectation
When you no longer live to do what you feel is expected of you, and start living for yourself instead, then your opinion of your actions becomes the only one that matters. You stop caring what other people think of you, and you can then open yourself up to achieving your own goals and realising your dreams.
This is such a beautiful way to invite peace into your life. When you know that you are living in line with your purpose, this peace will come naturally to you. You will feel as though you are always moving forwards in the right direction, and that you have a greater sense of what it is that you want for yourself.
When living a calm and peaceful life becomes your goal, then you can make changes in your daily routine to make this a reality.
You will start to notice what is keeping you from living in this way, and then you can find ways to lessen the presence of these things in your life.
Stop & Breathe
I'm sure you will have heard me say this before but it's so important — being able to stop and breathe is key to unlocking your inner peace.
Your breath is such a powerful tool, and one that is easy to access and utilise. All you need to do to instantly encourage feelings of peace and calm is to take some time to focus on your breathing. Step away from your day — even just for a few minutes — and allow yourself to breathe deeply in and out.
As you do so, visualise the air you breathe in going all the way down to the very bottom of your lungs, and then coming back up and out into the world again. Imagine each breath collecting stress and negativity from all around your body, and then expelling it out into the air around you until it's gone.
In instances where you are feeling a serious negative emotion — stress, anger, upset — then stopping to breathe for a few moments can help you to respond to this situation from a place of calm.
Find Your Peace
Finding peace in an often chaotic world can be a difficult thing to get started with — especially if you are already feeling low on motivation for each day. However, taking small steps towards doing so can be great for your happiness as well as your overall sense of balance in life.
When you begin to feel this way, then you will notice that you naturally become much better at keeping stress and anxiety at bay, and living a life with greater clarity.
