24 Hours of Self-Care

As you all know, I’m all about self-care and making it a priority. I talk, write and dream a lot about those small moments of self-care that we should incorporate into our everyday life.

This includes things such as meditating for 10 minutes, or just sitting still with our favourite cup of tea, or walking around the block a few times listening to our favourite playlist. These little things might seem small and insignificant to us, but they are huge and valuable to our bodies, mind and spirit.

But sometimes we need more. We need to just leave everyone and everything and solely focus on us for a day. And that’s exactly what I did at the Lifehouse Spa and Hotel in Sussex. I spent 24 glorious hours here, recharging my batteries. And I’m a firm believer that that’s what we all need every now and again!

I slept, sat in the sun in their outstanding gardens, ate amazing plant-based, and super fresh food, sipped on glorious green juices and submerged myself in their glorious and beautifully scented steam rooms and saunas. Also on offer, and of course I did as well, was 30 minutes of truly wonderful mindfulness meditation and simply the most fantastic facial I think I’ve ever had! I walked out looking fresh faced and possibly 10 years younger!

Why is Self-Care Important?

If you have heard me talk about self-care before then you will know that I believe it is the answer to so many of the struggles that we all face. It is a great way to demonstrate compassion and kindness towards yourself, as well as better enable your mind to cope with and process the events of each day.

It is super important to understand that taking time for yourself is far from selfish, and is actually a necessity if you are to maintain your happiness and positivity!

An act of self-care can be a simple small gesture towards yourself – it doesn’t have to take the form of a full 24 hours at a spa! As long as you are doing something pleasant for yourself then you will be on the right path to wellness!

  1. I have been contemplating a spa or retreat vacation…I may just hit a quiet house on the lake, no TV or computer for 2-3 days and sip tea and relax- walk, swim and clear mind/body. Thanks
