Five Ways to Recharge Body and Mind

Five Ways to Recharge Body and Mind

Just like the batteries of the devices that have become integral to our lives, our own batteries need to be recharged often too!

The way in which many of us live our lives today can often mean that we believe being busy to be a good thing! We connect it to our sense of success and feelings of productivity. When we are busy we feel as though we are moving forwards with our lives, and working towards the goals, targets, and dreams that we have set for ourselves.

Although it can be hard to break out of the cycle of busyness, especially if you have a fast-paced job and a family to take care of, it is essential for your own self-care that you are regularly able to slow down!

Unfortunately, sometimes it just isn’t possible to take a step back from all of the things that you need to get done, and in these instances it becomes all the more important that you are able to take smaller moments to recharge your body and your mind.

If you find that you often feel totally worn out at the end of each day, and that these feelings of fatigue are impacting your mood and your happiness, then the time to take action is now!

Today I am sharing my top five ways to recharge your batteries, so that you can always get back to being your best self!

Eat Well

The food that you eat will have a huge impact on how quickly your body and mind are able to recharge each day.

It is important to get a good mix of carbohydrates with adequate protein and an ample dose of healthy fats each and every day. Eating a variety of whole foods is one of the best ways to achieve this.

If you are really feeling low on energy at the end of the day, then a nutritious meal can help to give your body what it needs. However, you certainly shouldn’t wait until you are feeling fatigued before you pay attention to your diet!

It can be quite time consuming to always cook fresh healthy meals, and this is where meal planning can become an absolutely essential secret weapon! Preparing food in advance for the week is such a time-saver. You can do this by cooking in bulk and then freezing dishes in portion sized containers.

If you are confused about nutrition, or are uncertain of which recipes are going to be the best to choose, then reaching out to a dietician or nutritionist could be a smart decision for you.

Stretch Your Body

Stretching is such a simple thing, yet so many people forego it as a part of their daily routine.

When your body is running on empty, and your mind is feeling the same, then you are likely to experience any aches and pains even more prominently. Taking a five minute break from your day to stretch all of your limbs and muscles can help to alleviate these aches and pains, whilst also re-energising the body and mind.

Although a five minute stretch every day can do you wonders, making a more conscious effort to stretch your body regularly is an even better idea! This is something you can do by embracing a daily yoga practice.

Kick-Start Each Day

One of the best ways that you can help to keep your batteries from running low is to prioritise your physical health and fitness. When you are better equipped physically to keep up with the demands of each day, then it becomes less likely that you will experience emotional exhaustion as rapidly.

Far from being a drain on your energy, exercise can actually get your energy levels up – alongside your mood and motivation for each day!

Finding time for just 20 minutes of intense exercise in the morning can really kick-start your day, and ensure you get started with your batteries fully charged!

There are so many different fantastic ways to move your body that you can surely find at least one type of exercise that you love – if not many more! Experiment with different things, and don’t give yourself a hard time if you try something and then don’t enjoy it. The key is to find something physical that you can look forward to doing in the mornings. This will mean that this part of your day is one that you truly look forward to!

Explore Aromatherapy

The use of essential oil scents to invigorate your senses is something that I recommend everyone should try!

Essential Oil Aromatherapy Health

There are so many incredible essential oils that can be used for a multitude of purposes. Whether you are looking for help to ease your mind into rest at the end of the evening, or you need a refreshing boost to pick your energy up during the day, there is certainly an essential oil for you!

Calm in the Bath

Ending your day with a hot bath may sound like a luxury that you just don’t have time for, but the rejuvenating benefits of doing so are not to be overlooked.

Using this time to be alone with your thoughts is a fantastic way to calm the mind, and you might also engage in a few moments of meditation.

Adding Epsom salt into your bath can help to further expel stress from the body and mind, encouraging those batteries to naturally recharge. Epsom salt can also help to soothe the muscles, helping you to get your body back on track after a long day.
